About the Department

The department of Chemical Engineering is the oldest department in the field of Chemical Engineering in Sindh, established in 1964. It has produced many outstanding graduates over the years. The department has a highly PhD and ME qualified and experienced faculty. Currently, there are 24 faculty members serving in the Chemical Engineering Department. The department consists of 6 PhD, most of them are foreign qualified (South Korea, China, Malaysia, Netherlands, Germany) which include the Pro Vice Chancellor, the Director Post-Graduate studies and Controller of Examinations. Most of faculty has a great research profile in their research fields. Department have developed 8 research-based laboratories (i-e Unit Operations, petrochemical, biochemical reaction thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer engineering and instrument and control engineering) for undergraduate and graduate students, which are fully functional and equipped. All classrooms are also well-decorated & fully equipped with multimedia, screen, echo and loudspeakers system. Industrial training is the part of the education program of the department and students are sent to various industries for practical training and visits every year. The department ensures that the graduates are produced with andethical vision of life and raise the general level of engineering competence.
